This is a question I see a lot on Beautylish and the answer to it is really, really simple.
You can't.
There is nothing you can do to make your hair grow faster. Now I know this sounds discouraging, but hear me out.
Hair grows on average 1/2 an inch a month. Now notice I said average, meaning your hair can grow less then this or more then this, it's all based on genetics. I've seen a five year old girl with hair past her butt (she could put it in a high pony tail and it was still touching her waist), the other girls in her class either had shoulder length hair or hair that went to the middle of their backs. Obviously the 1/2 an inch a month average did not apply to the girl with hair past her butt, and it doesn't apply to many other girls as well.
Now, while it isn't possible for your hair to be growing any faster, there are things that you could be doing to delay it's growth.
For example, how much water do you drink? Do you go days at a time on just soda and juice or do you regularly drink water? Just like your body, your hair needs you to drink water! Plus, when you drink water everything about you just feels better (or for me anyway). Your hair, your complexion, how tired or awake you feel in the morning, all these things can change a lot when you cut out the sugar and replace it with some simple H20. I've been off of soda for two years now and my body feels better, still need to work on working out, but the change I've made for right now is ok.
Putting heat to your hair regularly is also going to slow down the growth as it's bad for your hair. There are things you can do to make sure the process isn't as damaging by using heat protectant on your hair and making sure the flat irons aren't turned up to hell heat, but it's still not good for your hair, especially if you do it every day.
Things that involve harsh chemicals or alter your hairs natural state aren't going to be good for your hair, but one would common sense could probably assume that.
Things you can do to help your hair grow at it’s normal rate include:
♥ Drinking water
♥ Massage your scalp with stimulating oils [Tea tree or peppermint]
♥ Wash your with shampoo hair as needed
♥ Try out sulfate free shampoos when you do! Less harsh on your hair.
♥ Don’t dye your hair to often
♥ Deep condition your hair often
♥ Try not to use heat on your hair all the time! Or if you do, use a heat protectant!
♥ Don’t brush your hair to roughly
♥ Listen to your hair [If your hair isn’t feeling good after using certain products, don’t use them again!
♥ BE PATIENT
Just give your hair some time, your body some love, and love your hair and make sure the products you use love your hair to!
That's all for now!
